30-07-2015· I just got the Wuertz surface grinder attachment. I bought the longer one. I have only flattened and tapered one blade so far. I put the feeler gauge at .058 for the first test so the taper is slight but will set it at .070 next time which is the amount of taper over six inches. Here are 3 photos. Larry

08-08-2008· My 6 X 12 manual surface grinder, Covel, all cast iron, takes a 7" wheel. So far, I've noticed no vibration from a new wheel and it just gets better after dressing. My heaviest so far, is a 7 X 1 X 1-1/4, with a 1/2" recess for the hub.

I didn't take any WIP pics, but I'll post some photos of the finished piece here soon. In the mean time, I've been collecting parts to build a new, more accurate and more robust surface grinder attachment for my 2x72 grinder. The materials finally all came in, so I decided to build the grinder before I started on any other knife projects.
